New Loading Docks

A 12 week project on the Gazely Magna Park Estate in Lutterworth to develop their existing level access door arrangement into multi-container compatible docks.

A single level access door was retained, with a further six dock leveller doors installed. This required significant excavation to reduce the existing yard level as well as the creation of retaining walls & the formation of a dock face of up to 1.2m. Remote sumps with float activated power were installed to address water concerns as the falls to the remainder of the yard could not be affected. The operation remained live during construction raising traffic segregation challenges that required tightly controlled concrete pours. The docks were cast in-situ, with the leveller set into the existing slab and included full traffic light activated wheel locking system and electric straight up doors.
